Lately, going through social media platforms, you come to realize that pranking innocent people is the latest trend. Some of these jokes are very expensive and can land the prankster in very big trouble. Yesterday I witnessed one myself at the market. A guy dressed like a mad man jumped out of an empty shop and gave a middle-aged man a very hot chase 😂. He continued chasing the man until the man fell to the ground and he started showing him the camera,We all laughed, but the man did not find it funny.

Even if I were to be in his shoes, I wouldn't even take it likely with the prankster. Imagine going online and seeing a video of your dad getting chased until he fell to the ground, and then it's tagged as a prank, but the embarrassment is already there. The thing is, we cannot change how the world operates; we will surely get pranked, whether we like it or not, whether we give consent or not.
It was April 1st, 2021, and a small cooperative society mom was part of decided to host a get-together for all members and their families. It was supposed to happen the year before, but the Corona virus pandemic stood as a hindrance, and finally the deal day was here. In my neighborhood, we all know April 1st is the day for pranksters to show what they are made of, but we were made to understand that once it is 12 p.m, all pranksters are expected to retire back to their houses and no more pranks, though some don't follow this rule.
So on the 1st of April every year, the task is to ensure you do not fall for any prankster before 12 p.m, unless you want to be tagged a fool. In this day you have to be careful, as you do not even know who is out to prank you. You watch your every step carefully, every word carefully, and everything you do. Sometimes, despite being extra careful, we still fall for these pranksters.
So the get together was scheduled for 4 p.m, and we prepared for this event while trying to avoid falling for these pranksters, which was a success. At 4 p.m, we set out for the venue. The little get-together was fun, and the aroma of food from the kitchen was comforting and reignited hope when it was lost because it took so long to get to the part where we get to devoure the meat and do justice to it. Just when they brought out the coolers, my mom's phone rang, and she stepped out to take the call. Next thing I heard, people were screaming outside.
The way she fell with her back after receiving the terrible news that our house was no fire, trust me, it hurts to see the promise Land and not enter. I saw the coolers and the meats and fantasized about how I'd devour them, but I had to leave with Mom on a bike to go back home to at least save a few things. Even my mom saw how reluctantly I followed her, only to get home after about 10–15 minutes of riding, and it was all a prank from our neighbor's child, Philip. If only murder was not a crime 😂, I would have murdered Philip that day.
