Remnants of Winter on Lake Superior...

The ice has gone out on the Lake but there are still these beautiful sculptures to remind us that we still have a few days and weeks to go before we can start to believe winter is done with us yet.

We have had snow in May and once in June that I can remember. I am eager to get the garden moved outside but it’s these twisted fingers of ice that point to me and say hold on there farmer, give it a few more days.

That water is cold ....

The 14 day forecast says we are headed up to around 11 Celsius this week but the nights are still below freezing. My seedlings would not survive these temperatures.

This colder weather is certainly helping to keep us locked away indoors. I guess that is a good thing. Stay safe out there everyone. Summer will eventually return ... and we can all venture outside.
