OCD's support is expanding!

Hello everyone! This is the 832nd compilation post of OCD's latest curation efforts. It has been known that OCD has been supporting leading niche communities under its Community Incubation Program. However, there are still a lot of other niche communities not supported by OCD. This curation initiative will help in supporting those communities.

This newest curation effort aims to encourage authors to post in appropriate communities even if those communities are not under the incubation program. This will also encourage users to explore more into the different communities in Hive.

How this Works

OCD curators and community leaders will find posts from other niche communities and recommend them for an upvote. Unlike those communities in the incubation program where curation is focused, this curation initiative is spread out. This will help find undervalued posts from smaller communities that deserve support.

This will highlight both the author and the community where the post is located. This way, smaller niche communities can focus on growing their subscribers and increasing the engagements within their respective communities. A small boost goes a long way.

Speaking of boost, here are the curated posts for this batch:

SHARING FOR TEACHER'S DAY/ WEEKEND EXPERIENCES

I will never forget some words I heard from a teacher, whose name I do not remember at the moment and with a couple of doctorates in education, who told me that a teacher can have all the masters and doctorates in the world, but if he/she does not teach with love, all those degrees will be useless. What do you think?

Survival skills challenge: Spoon Making Part 2

I decided against burning out the bowl of the spoon with a coal as I didn't think it would look all that nice so instead I tried to carve it out using just my knife as I wouldn't have a bowl carving knife out in a SHTF scenario...I'm just not that prepared. It was the most difficult part to get right as the tip of a knife can be used in the centre and swung round the right hand side to carve it out a little. The left hand side was more difficult as I certainly wasn't going to have the blade facing towards me as that could lead to a nasty accident. I ended up having to carve both right and left handed to try and get the bowl carved but even now, a more curved blade would help tremendously to carve it a little deeper and get a better bowl shape.

Emigrar, sentimientos y familia.

With distance, family ties are stretched to the maximum, they refuse to be broken and fortunately technology offers several alternative approaches. The one I like the most is the video call, it was my important in my small family, to be able to soften the pain of separation. The unspeakable pandemic left behind that positive custom: video calling each other, to see each other, talk to each other, laugh, know and see that we are still with each other.

En el siglo pasado #104 / In the last century #104

To begin with, I will mention the way people looked for jobs or applied for vacant positions. There was a section of the local and national newspaper dedicated to advertisements of this type. With highlighter in hand I would read one by one until I found the one that matched my profile. At that time I was a young graduate of Bachelor of Science (completed high school) with the desire to generate income while waiting for a place in college.

Orgullo: cuando algo lo vale [ES|EN] - Pride: when something is worth it

Normally we can recognize pride as the opposite quality of humility, but as suggested in the invitation to this initiative, this quality can be both positive and negative. However, it is positive pride that I am going to write about today.

Mishandling Feelings

I watched Luckiest Girl Alive on Netflix recently, and one of the lines that hit me hard was, "Write it like no one will ever read it." The first time I heard it, I felt on fire to pop out post after post. After the second time, it suddenly felt more personal.

Chasing falls and views

Last Sunday, my sisters, my cousins and myself all finally fulfilled a long time wish to all go hiking and waterfall chasing together. This wish temmed from when we hiked out to see Sierra madre falls and expected to see a huge falls that you could bathe in because that was the pictures we saw in books. To our disappointment, we didn't see a huge falls, but a little spring. It just looked like a little spring and that was enough for us to do our research on the other falls near the metro.

Mom's Backyard Garden

I'm not a green thumb myself. I haven't grown any plants or fruit trees before but my parents are. My father is a farmer so it's natural for him to plant various fruit trees. When he was young and single, he planted their piece of land with coconut. Twenty years after, we can now reap the fruits of his sacrifices. In addition to that, he also planted fruit trees. Depending on the season, we can enjoy different fruits such as pineapple, jackfruit, and more.

EN-ES馃幃馃弳馃敨Review and experience of Gamecon 2022 Uruguay馃幃馃弳馃敨

How is my dear Hive community? I hope very well, today I want to share a little about my experience at GAMECON, an annual video game convention that takes place in the city where I currently reside, this being: Montevideo - Uruguay, finally we agree that there are not many hivers who share about the experiences, events or life of this little country so it is a challenge for me to share a little about what life is like here.
