SO! I have decided to gradually publish a short personal research on "Rituals". Follow up with me, as i will be posting my documentation part by part throughout this week.

RITUALS: Intro
Having lived the first 16 years of my life in the city of Casablanca, the economic capital of the Kingdom of Morocco. I was exposed to a variety of local and foreign customs, beliefs and rituals that have shaped the Moroccan society. Morocco like many under developed countries is susceptible to media, religious and governmental control who in return abides by world corporate organizations. With that said, it is fair to say that I, like the majority of people living in a capitalist world, have been victim to impulsive consumption that had a ritualistic lure. It is common knowledge that all institutions benefit from consumption, which is driven by five primary sources of ritualistic consumer behavior.
Rituals are a fundamental component of the human life and a major factor in an individual‘ self-identification. Corporations and other institutions have identified this key human component and creatively developed ground breaking strategies to increase traffic in the marketplace, monitor consumer behavior and further promote consumerism. I am to explain the different types and principles of rituals with an emphasis on behavioral rituals within modern societies; and more importantly to bring awareness to the vulnerability of this basic and almost sacred human instinct.
