Who can ever think that money can be evolved? It is not only humankind, animals and plants that evolve. When we think of evolution, we think of something biological, something that came of out nature, not something man created. All things man made are evolved in some form. Take money for instance.
Way back in the ancient times, bartering was a form of money. You exchanged an item for another item. You exchanged 4 chickens for 1 pig. You bartered 2 cows for 1 wife (not to be funny but it still exists and is called dowry). This was a world without physical money but with real goods exchanged for other real tangible goods.
Then came a source of medium like salt and sea shells. The more you had, the richer you are since these goods was always in need. Then came along technology. Yes, technology that pretty much killed the old ancient bartering lifestyle.
Around 600 BC, the first known coin was made in Lydia. It was made of gold and silver forming electrum. This made trading profitable and made Lydia one of the richest empires in Asia minor at that time. Around 700 BC, the Chinese took it one step further and replaced the coin with paper. The first paper money was made. During this time, the Europeans still used the coin method of trading. It wasn't until the 16th century that Europe caught up and started using paper money.
Fast forward to today. Paper money is still being used but by the minority. Everything is done with credit cards, debit cards and now Bitcoin (the father of cryptocurrency). So this leaves me with this question, why is the governments (not just America) is so intent on resisting on cryptocurrency? Let me get to the answer on that in a bit.
But first, did you know that credit cards and debit cards are not real money. They are digital money. Bitcoin and cryptocurrency is digital money too. So now we are in the digital age of money. It needs to evolve to gain better traction. It needs to evolve so people can get a better lifestyle. The question now is this, "Why is the government so resistant toward cyrptocurrency?" The answer is simple, control. It's not about market multiplication, the government and big companies does it all the time. They just make it legal because they can control it. It's not about regulation, it's about their control over you. It's about the fight of the little guy fighting against each other to get the scraps from the big boys.
When they are not in control, it becomes illegal. When Satoshi came with an answer, "Money that cannot be controlled by the government or the big boys but the people" (my emphasis not Satoshi)., the government and the big boys broke lose their control. They will forever be trying to control it and will fight it.
So what do we do? Embrace the evolution of money early on because those who lag behind will become the slaves of the early adopters. They will always say, "What if and I should have." It is only a matter of time before this becomes the norm. For every evolution, there is opposition and with every opposition, the evolved always win.
