So I made some clay canes last week while I was so tired and burnt up. I still love them though- but these ones are better......
I did not intend to buy a new set of clay but in my last trip to officeworks, I got these.
I initially wanted to challenge me and see how much I can create with these clay.
Each piece of clay is 28 gms and, its a steal as I've got quite a lot for AUD 25.
I wanted to initially use the tools exclusively to create whatever is in my mind. Unfortunately, my imagination ran out of line and, I ended up just using my old tools- with the new ones.
Here is my old trusted clay retractor with pink clay inside.
Get 4 pieces of clay. Stack them together.
Side view.....
Then, cut them into pieces. Stack them again to get something that looks like this.
Get a black clay, roll it and wrap it around the cane.
The second cane is much more simple. Just stack 3 pieces of flat canes.
Roll.
These canes will not be baked for now. They will remain in my crafting boxes to be used in the future. There are many possibilities with them. I can use them as earrings, tiles, even as pendants or, as part of my sculpture.
I usually just wrap them up with baking sheets to protect them from any damages. I sometimes feel fancy and use glassine paper but, if you guys do not have it, baking paper are fine.I usually find a roomy space in my craft boxes where they cannot be accidentally smooched and, safely store them for quite awhile until inspiration strikes...
