Oh no! The mutant South African, Indian and Filipino strains of the covid virus were detected in the community last week. As a result, they're making all domestic helpers, 370,000 of them, take a covid test within a week.
If they're found to carry the mutant strain, then all residents in their building get sent to the quarantine center for 21 days. That's a little strict and over zealous but maybe they're really scared of this virus strain. While residents are sent to the quarantine centers, the building staff aren't. Where's the logic?
We're at the halfway point so let's assume that 185,000 people have been tested. They've only detected 4 cases of the mutant strain and all are asymptomatic.
So they're panicking over 4/185,000 = 0.0022% of the population having this mutant strain.
I just wish someone with common sense could make these rulings instead of some politician in an ivory tower.
