Anger is one of the most dangerous emotions; it is second to none. The person who expresses it is not always thinking straight.

It dispels love, adoration, fondness, longing, desire, passion, tenderness, attachment, compassion, joy, delight, elation, euphoria, contentment, gratitude, hope, amusement, relief, and satisfaction.

It also brings with it sadness, grief, sorrow, loneliness, heartbreak, disappointment, hopelessness, despair, guilt, shame, regret, melancholy, nostalgia, annoyance, frustration, irritation, resentment, jealousy, envy, contempt, disgust, fear, anxiety, dread, nervousness, insecurity, worry, panic, terror, helplessness, and vulnerability.

It leaves people surprised, amazed, confused, shocked, bewildered, curious, and doubtful.

Anger is greater than all the above-mentioned emotions combined. It is seldom accompanied by pride and is often accompanied by hurt. We cannot take away anger as an emotion, but we can contain it. Someone once wrote, and I quote, "If you are angry, count to ten, and if you are very angry, count to a hundred." That is to say, if you are angry, take a pause and think before you speak, but if you are very angry, don't react at all.
