Back in the days when a question comes up in school or class, asking for the profession that we all want to venture into when we grow we will all chorus , Doctor,nurse ,lawyer and engineer and all those big name profession. Well, to some people they pursue their dreams and it works for them as planned , so are always lucky to have a sponsor or someone who immediately assist them in getting their dream job after schooling. And some people even with the certification in their choose career will still venture into something else just for survival.
At that point you realize that life is not just about the future career that you had in mind or the your certifications, but at some points it's about survival. Most of us venturing into another career now, if you ask us, you will realize that, what we are doing now is not what we had in mind to do, but we must survive while still hoping for our dream profession to come true.
I am a teacher and I love the profession, regardless of the poor treatment of people in the educational sector in this part of the world. So instead of choosing another career line, I will prefer equipping myself with more skills that will make me function well in other field and works of life then venture into it while still doing my teaching at some point. Imparting people's life gives you a sense of fulfillment, at times I see teaching not just a a profession but I see it as if I am rendering humanitarian services to the younger generation. I kmow we all love our profession but there is a level you get to in life and what you consider first is how to survive. So survive first then use the income to pursue your profession .
So in Nigeria these days, you just need to do anything legal that will give you the cash that you need to fulfill your purpose then you can use the cash to pursue your dream dream profession.
