I knew this sucker was gonna stiff us, but my boy vouched for him. So I’m like, “Okay, if he doesn’t pay up, it’s on you.” Dude didn’t pay up. As I knew he wouldn’t.
Salutations divine bags of mostly water, carbon units, soul spirits and wellness warriors. Welcome to another hump day from paradise. It’s wellness Wednesday.
The particular cohort group to which I belong, not by choice mind you, has a longer leg in the last century than in this one. So we got stories. This envity may have more than our share, or not. Maybe it’s just our memory. It’s by virtue of military life that we learned the harshest lessons. Maybe they were harsh because we were low on the life line back then. But we were also vibrant and dynamic. For every story of the Command trying to bust me out of the services or lock my ass up, there’s one more about unexpected amour, and another one about some physical activity, (other than amour), like weightlifting, football or racket-ball, that eases the gut-wrenching nostalgia like Pepto Bismal.
We won’t double-time it across the memory grinder today, but it certainly helps to have an intuitive feel within a conglomeration of humans from all over the country. Your humble recruit developed the body language read before I knew there was such a thing.
What did they call it back then?
Oh yeah. “Being a good judge of character.”
Fast forward to Cyber World. The non-space-space where less and less is authentic and “real” has been replaced with “reels” that are un-apologetically, un-real.
And that brings us to Substack.
The MBTI once assessed your humble vagabond as an INTP. Introverted, Intuitive, Thinking, Perceiver. Somehow that classification changed to “Judger.” I don’t fancy being a “judger,” but Mind thinks the change has to do with more interaction across the net. For yours truly, perception has to do with sight. At least that’s the way We look at it. [Pun intended.]
Maybe it’s a little more than 18 months, but Mind has noticed that Ego has been sorting out these SS encounters almost along the lines of the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator. We don’t have fancy names for the different types. But we can kind of tell who’s full of shit, who’s struggling, who is ambitious, but their talent hasn’t caught up to that ambition yet, who’s faking the funk, who’s real, and who’s chill enough to strike up a cosmic connection with.
[Disclaimer: The savvy intuitive will have already classified the Noxsoma Channel. We know this going in. Plus, we’ve already set up our mirror for all to see, with the psych profile. So that’s out of the way.]
The paranoid might think otherwise, but what follows is observation, not critique. We don’t have enough pathos juice to critique anyone’s delivery style, hustle, or game, whether it’s AI enhanced, or not. If AI was banned from this platform 85% of posts would be dern near impossible to get through. Thanks to AI, it’s only 84%.
Maybe this will become a cathartic serial, because there are “personality quirks” piling up in mind. Not mad. Just something We noticed.
Ego thinks that we’ve reached the end of the Conspiracy Theory Universe. Between, Night Stalker, X-Files, countless ghost hunter red herrings, Ancient Aliens, Blue Book, Disclosure activists, and conspiracy theory channels that serve up left over X-Files stories, your boy is kind of burnt. Bring on the alien invasion already. Nibiru, where are you? Imagine being an Alien Hunting Ufologist, and disclosure comes and it’s a nothing burger on a moldy bun. Hold the pickles, and the lettuce. What’s next? Maybe you come to Substack and try to gin up some interest. 1947 just gets further and further back in time. No one has time for alien autopsy tapes anymore.
So the latter-day conspiracy writers on the stack just don’t do it for me anymore. Plus, their vibe has a desperate feel to it. Like, “it’s now or never.” But it’s already never.
The medical advocates are the same way. We nonetheless applaud their work. At the top of the covid era we were literally day-by-day watching a growing number of medical professionals morph into insufferable social media celebrities. Coalitions and alliances blossomed over Zoom calls. Everybody had their theories, most of which were within the germ theory paradigm. They tip-toed on the tight rope between reputation/income and medical rebel/pariah. And next thing we know, they are selling their own brand of vitamin supplements, and meds that were banned during covid! And of course, there are always books.
We’ve come across a few of those types on the Stack as well. Some of them even took the jab. More than once!
The thing about tenured professionals in any genre, when they get “canceled” from their high exposure, high paying positions, and attempt to do the “grass roots,” I’m-dowm-with-the-peeps performance, they still sound like they’re selling big pharma products door-to-door. They can’t turn it off. There’s that same synthetic joy in their voices. They use the same words, speak in the same tempo and rhythm, and they come off as desperate, fake and befuddled.
Anyway, we needed this venting session. So let’s finish off with praise for the real ones. The brave writers that get out here and share their souls, and their soles. Kudos for holding it together against the odds. Believe it or not, the odds are moving in your favor. It may be happening excruciatingly slowly, but it’s happening. I feel a lot of y’all out here. And I have questions, that are often answered before I get to ask them. So allow your humble vagabond to reciprocate.
Here’s what Myers-Briggs left out about this quirky vagabond personality. We can be hard on fakers and hustlers. But not too hard. Just enough to let them know that we know. A well placed question that gets an evasive answer, or no answer all. Or a “join our group” invitation. No thanks. That’s cool. Sell your books. Cultivate your cult. We’ll watch from the periphery. We’re just not your audience. And we’re not gonna rat-ya out either. But maybe I’ll tell my clique.
Everybody deserves to benefit from a good hustle these days.
