Hey, how are you Hivers?

In today's post, I come to show you a new illustration I made, inspired by a style I developed last time in " Do you see it",So that it wouldn't remain a one-time thing, I decided to repeat the exercise to see how I could progress, I took a reference and I started to appropriate the drawing adding some elements to it, to generate an atmosphere between gloomy and adorable.

Ey!, como están Hivers?!

En el post de hoy, vengo a enseñarles una nueva ilustración que hice, inspirada en un estilo que desarrolle la última vez en " Do you see it", para que no se quede como una cosa de solo una vez, decidi repetir el ejercicio a ver como podia ir progresando, agarre una referencia y me empece a apropiar del dibujo añadiéndole algunos elementos, para generar un ambiente entre lúgubre y adorable.

Also, like the last illustration, I took a sketch I did in pencil and colors to rethink it again, this time digitally.

También, como la ilustración pasada, agarre un boceto que hice a lápiz y colores para replantearlo de nuevo, esta vez digitalmente.

The original model in the picture is my friend @matcha-ramita, of which I had to interpret the other side of the face, as it was covered by shadows and the look that is perceived is directly to the camera, and it was the first thing I changed.

"His gaze is lost and worried, he can't scream because his mouth is cooked and he doesn't know what is happening around him, old tree branches surround his body while he hears some mocking laughter."

This was the description I used and what I thought of when I was designing the additional elements.

La modelo original en la fotografía es mi amiga @matcha-ramita, de la cual tuve que interpretar el otro lado de la cara, ya que estaba cubierto por sombras y la mirada que se percibe está directa a la cámara, y fue lo primero que cambie

"La mirada perdida y preocupada, no puede gritar porque tiene la boca cocida y no sabe lo que está pasando a su alrededor, ramas de árbol viejo le rodean el cuerpo mientras escucha alguna que otra risa burlona."

Fue esta la descripción que use y en lo que pensé cuando estaba diseñando los elementos adicionales.

My method to illustrate consists of having all the elements that compose it in layers so that I can edit separately, a posteriori anything I want to change, such as the base colors or add some elements to the shadows.

mi método para ilustrar consiste, en tener por capas todos los elementos que la componen así poder editar por separado, a posteriori cualquier cosa que quiera cambiar, como los colores bases o agregar algún elementos a las sombras.

Shadows / Sombras

For the shadows I used 4 levels, the first one to mark the softer shadow zone and the last one for the darker zones.

Para las sombras use 4 niveles la primera para marcar la zona de sombra mas suave y la ultima para las zonas mas oscuras

Lights / Luces

As I wanted the image to be a bit "immersed in the darkness" I only used one light layer and one highlight layer.

Como quería que la imagen estuviera un poco "sumergido en la oscuridad" me baste solo de una capa de luz y una de altas luces.

Just lights and hadows / Solo sombras y luces

Having already finished the main creation process, in Photoshop, I started to handle and test different color palettes, and added elements such as watercolor paper, to make it feel more similar to the previous illustration.

Ya habiendo terminado el proceso de creación principal, en Photoshop, empiezo a manejar y probar diferentes paletas de colores, y agregué elementos como el papel acuarelable, para que se sintiera más similar a la ilustración anterior.

Color tests / Pruebas de color

The color palette I like the most was the one based on secondary colors, since it's not a palette I use a lot, as well as inking the shadows in purple tones.Plus color manipulation with Photoshop tools this would be the final result!

La paleta de colores que más me gusta fue la basada en colores secundarios, ya que no es una paleta que uso mucho, además de entintar las sombras en tonos morados. ¡Más la manipulación de color con las herramientas de Photoshop este sería el resultado final!
