Nerd By Northwest #168 – “SCIF Trolls”

'SCIF' stands for "Sensitive Compartmentalized Information Facility", which is basically a secure area for sensitive government work & research. Working in one is almost like being in a bunker or basement, as there are no windows or natural daylight. And since you don't get to bring in your smartphone or other personal electronics, it's almost like being cut off from the rest of the world. And it can be SO BORING. The kind of boredom that leads to silly thoughts like 'SCIF trolls'.
Yeah, I didn't care for working in that environment. But one comfort I DID get from my old job was knowing that during the slow times, the government was largely paying me to sit around thinking up goofy crap like this. 😁
