It was around eight o'clock in the evening at the Risingstar studio when Millie finished her day's activities. She spent several hours at the piano practicing, composing, and trying to shape a new melody that had come to her by chance that afternoon. Before resting, she remembered that piece she had written in her music notebook. It wasn't just any melody; it had something special.
She remembered it clearly. It began with soft chords, then a more lively rhythm appeared, and finally a delicate ending that left a feeling of calm. She thought about playing it again, so she got up and walked to the studio where the piano was. The place was silent, the lamps illuminated the black and white keys, everything seemed perfect. Millie sat down calmly and opened her music notebook to review the melody. But something wasn't right.
The pages were blank, with only a few chords and small notes in the margins. It was as if someone had erased most of it, leaving only traces. Millie was startled and slowly closed the notebook, thinking: this is a mystery.
She decided to investigate like an amateur detective. First, she checked the security cameras, then she checked another notebook to see if she had written it down somewhere else. She even tried to remember if any other Risingstar musicians had seen the score during the day. But there was nothing, no clear evidence.
This girl couldn't stop thinking and remembered something curious: it wasn't the first time that a musical idea had disappeared like this. In her early days, she had created small fragments of songs that, hours later, seemed to have vanished among new ideas and sounds. Then she had a cup of coffee and understood what had happened.
No one had stolen the melody; it had simply been lost among all the musical thoughts that arise when one composes. In music, ideas are born quickly and sometimes disappear just as quickly. Although sometimes they remain stored in some corner of the memory, waiting for the right moment to return.
With that conclusion, Millie closed her notebook, breathed calmly, and placed her hands back on the piano. Perhaps the melody she had lost would not return exactly the same. But in Risingstar, every note always finds a new way to return. And perhaps, in the next chord, a different story was about to begin.
