A few days ago, and to link it to the proposed topic, when the electricity came back on, it caused breakdowns. The fuses that are placed on the poles to protect the transformers of my urbanization tripped, that is to say, they burned out. Our residential area not only suffered the electrical reasoning but we also had another period of time without electricity while waiting for the response from the public electric company.

At an unexpected moment, we were able to see a truck with the company's personnel driving along the main avenue. We, the neighbors, among the anguish, saw a thread of hope and we were ready to stop the truck to raise the problem with the fuses of the pole that is at the entrance of our housing development. What a surprise and disappointment that when we spoke with the supervisor of the company responsible for the entire Venezuelan electrical system, the response of this gentleman was: “This is not my jurisdiction” and giving instructions to the driver, he quickly and swiftly started his truck, leaving us in the dark, literally.

I am really learning for the first time that in Venezuela there are jurisdictions for the responsible members of the electric company to attend to a failure that affects hundreds of inhabitants. It is one company, it is one nation.

Hablar de la situación y de la realidad del venezolano a veces puede resultar algo agotador. Nuevamente en nuestro país ha comenzado una temporada de razonamiento eléctrico, sin aviso ni fecha en el calendario como diría Simón Díaz, en este mes de marzo se ha ido incrementando los cortes de luz eléctrica, así como la duración de los mismos. Pasamos de una hora a cuatro horas sin energía eléctrica.

Suponemos que sean por una administración de carga, como es el eufemismo que utiliza la empresa para referirse al racionamiento eléctrico; pero a este tipo de interrupción eléctrica se suman otros generados por el incremento desmedido del voltaje y de la intensidad cuando regresa la energía eléctrica. Hace unos días y para vincularlo al tema propuesto cuando regresó la electricidad causo averías. Los fusibles que están colocados en los postes para proteger a los transformadores de mi urbanización se dispararon es decir se quemaron. Nuestra zona residencial no solamente padeció el razonamiento eléctrico sino que tuvimos adicionalmente otro lapso de tiempo sin luz en espera de la respuesta de la compañía eléctrica pública.

En un momento inesperado, logramos divisar que transitaba por la avenida principal un camión rotulado y con personal de la empresa. Los vecinos entre la angustia, vimos un hilo de esperanza y nos dispusimos a detener el camión para plantear el problema con los fusibles de poste que está en la entrada de nuestro urbanismo. Vaya qué sorpresa y decepción que al hablar con el supervisor de la empresa responsable de todo el sistema eléctrico venezolano la respuesta de este señor fue: “Esta no es mi jurisdicción” y dándole instrucción al chofer arrancaron raudo y veloz su camión dejándonos a oscuras literalmente.

De verdad que me entero por primera vez que en Venezuela existen jurisdicciones para que los miembros responsables de la empresa eléctrica atiendan una falla que afecta a cientos de habitantes. Es una sola empresa, es una sola nación.

De los miles de argumentos que han dado para justificar estas fallas eléctricas, ahora se suma una nueva la falta de jurisdicción al momento de reparar una falla. Ese día en cuestión, tuvimos que esperar un par de horas más hasta que llegara el camión con la jurisdicción respectiva para que en 15 minutos pudiéramos tener nuevamente el servicio eléctrico.
