After winning a street fight arranged by Hilarus, I explored the region using Senu, hunting dangerous alligators near Sobek's temple and on the lake to collect predator hides, while Hilarus asked me to follow him for more battles.
I continued the Champion quest by speaking with the old fighter. Another man standing nearby assumed Hilarus had come back for another beating, but Hilarus revealed that he had brought someone special this time.
It was just another fight the old fighter had dragged me into simply because he could not handle these opponents himself. As I stepped into the circle with my opponent, the old man stayed outside the crowd, cheering me on.
Just like in the previous bout, I gave the challenger a chance to attack first, but his moves were far too slow to hit me. Losing patience, I went on the offensive and began landing heavy strikes, that was quickly depleting his health.
I backed off to offer him one more chance to strike, but he missed the opportunity again. I pressed forward, unleashed a final sequence of blows that told him this fight is not for him.
The defeated man scrambled toward the water and swam away, shouting that he had never agreed to fight someone like me and accusing the old man of cheating him. Hilarus and I simply watched him make his escape.
I had no intention of heading straight to the next fight. Instead, I decided to explore the surrounding area and gather materials to upgrade my equipment. Senu flew down and perched on my arm to rest for a moment.
I then sent her up into the sky to scout out local supplies, spotting a cluster of predator hides nearby. Calling my horse, I mounted up and rode toward the location.
Along the way, I spotted a strange dog that looked almost like a clay statue standing completely still, though it turned out to be a real animal with a buddy roaming close by.
Arriving at the hunting site, I spotted a massive alligator resting directly outside Sobek's temple. I drew my bow and struck the beast with a fire arrow. The enraged creature charged straight toward me, but I brought it down with a second fire arrow and harvested its hide.
Senu highlighted another predator hide out on the lake, where a second alligator had just killed an unfortunate boatman.
I boarded a small boat and engaged the creature using fire arrows. The beast attacked the vessel, slamming into it twice and bringing it to the brink of destruction.
Just as the boat was about to sink, I landed the final shot to kill the predator, safely harvesting the extra hides I needed for my gear upgrades.
