First of all, i want to start by saying a big thank you to everyone who partook in this week's contest. Congratulations to the two winners shemzy32@shemzy32 and willspatrick@willspatrick. I hope to see more entries next week and more active engagement here. Once again I want to appreciate everyone who has been actively engaged with the community on here and discord.

So I had a lot of fun and terrible high school experience. I attended two different secondary/high schools--Saints' Mary and Alfred College and Federal Science and Technical College, Yaba. For both schools, my experience was quite different. In Saints' Mary and Alfred I was the little radical who had a lot of clout. I was the funny kid and cool with all the girls, but my FSTC experience was quite different. I had no clout, no one knew me. I think that was the beginning of my introversion as I was deeply depressed then. It was a broading school and I hated it! I never felt among, however, in retrospect it doesn't matter that much and I am grateful for the experience.

Speaking about fun and my seemingly near-death experience in secondary. Like I said earlier, I was bit of a radical in secondary--especially junior secondary school. One faithful day after our exams I was playing with my classmates in class. Just goofing around, very normal stuff, well until I decided to take it up a notch.

My favourite superhero then was spiderman. I had watched the movie a thousand times and knew virtually every move he made and for some reason, I thought I could replicate one of such seemingly easy stunt. What's so dangerous about jumping from your desk and swinging your hands in the air? nothing right? so I thought.

In my moment of childish exuberance, I reached for the top of my desk, screaming my best friend's name, " Chukwudi! Chukwudi! Watch me do the spider-man". It was a brief and almost static moment in the air. I had launched from the top of my desk with all the strength and enthusiasm I could muster.

BOOM!

It was loud and sharp--the sound of my body landing flat on the floor after the heavy bang on my head. There were screams and footsteps. I quickly stood up to reassure my classmate that i was totally fine and the hit wasn't significant but fell straight back to the ground. Here was what happened: our classroom ceiling fan which was turned on came in contact with my big head. It was centimetres away from my eye. In retrospect, i was very lucky. I would have been left with a damaged right eye and burden with the responsibility of tellinh the shameful story of how i stupidly lost it

The next day i was the object of ridicule at our morning assemble. My principal had a go at me, sending subliminal shades. Then nobody cared about your mental health (i do wonder how we made it out of those dark ages). Well, the whole experience only added to my clout. For some reason being a good for nothing lad had its appeal especially to the girls i was trying to impress. Bad boys always win.

My experience in FSTC Yaba was more of fear and terror. I didn't have that much clout and most of the people i met there were twice my size and age. i couldn't push my weight around. I felt so small in that place. My horrid experience stretches from being my room prefects laundry boy to losing all my clothing due to theft. I was literally wearing my friend's uniform for a full term because i had lost everything from my bed down to my boxers short.

Fortunately, i got out of there alive. That's the only positive thing from my senior school experience.
