This post has been sitting in my drafts for almost a month now. I've become a bit skeptical about sharing my life online these days for various reasons, but here is a little update.
The last 2-3 years has been very hectic. I went from becoming a husband, to starting life afresh in a new country to becoming a father. This short vacation to Italy was my family's attempt to cushion some of the effects from the changes of the past 3 years. Unfortunately it did not work out as planned but it was a worthy attempt.
Unlike my first (solo) vacation for the year to Spain, my trip to Sicily was daunting. Asides the stress of travelling with kids, navigating Sicily was challenging. The public transport was horrible! This is the reason I am getting my driver's license next month.
Honestly, there weren't that many sites to visit. The only fun time we had was at the beach. We visited the Palermo Cathedral and went on an hour city tour.
On the positive side, this wasn't an expensive vacation. My first vacation which was a solo vacation cost more. Also I got to take my twins on their first vacation, and they did enjoy it.
Another positive from the trip was that I got to take a lot of pictures of my wife with the camera I bought a couple months ago (as you can see, the pictures in this photo are of high quality). I wasn't able to take some great photos because of the limitations of my lens (it's a kit lens). Hopefully I get a sigma 24-70mm lens. I really do want to get into photography (as a hobby).
I do want to visit Italy again, but a different location. Maybe Rome or Venice. I want to believe it has more to offer because I have heard people say a lot of nice things about the country, nevertheless, this wasn't a vacation with fun memories.
That's all from my little update. Enjoy the rest of the photos.
