I risk the chance to be called all sorts of names by saying this but I genuinely think the masses deserve to be exploited and suffer the way they have over centuries.
We can start by examining how these early civilizations were structured. You have a single entity controlling most of the wealth laboured for by the masses. What I find fascinating is how these charismatic leaders purport their schemes under the watchful eyes of the masses.
I was watching a clip on TikTok the other day about how narrow our choices as individuals have been made over the decades given that most products and services are controlled by a few companies. It seems quite unbelievable but with most things, we only have very limited options.
For example, there six are companies that own 90% of the media in the world. Now it might seem that we have a variety of choices but it boils down to what these companies want us to see.
Now the interesting thing is how these options become our identity and we build stories around this identity and they become our truth.
The personalization of the truth is another dangerous thing happening in society today where the major yardstick for the truth is feelings. How I feel about a particular situation determines its validity, regardless of facts or how polarizing our emotions can be.
THE POWERS THAT BE leverage on our personification of the truth and this dual reality we've conjured and they are having a field day messing with our heads and lining up their pockets.
All we do these days is fight against each other over a silly narrative of what's right or wrong. We are not engaging in conversation to learn, rather it's become a means to combat each other.
Maybe verbal combat has always been the reason for arguments. By doing so we gauge our understanding of the things we believe in, however, I do not think the virtual sphere is ideal for it.
Back to the topic. I think the masses deserve to suffer for the way they let themselves be used and cajoled into pushing narratives/ideologies. I don't feel any form of sympathy towards anyone who puts themselves in difficult situations.
If you are aware of opportunities that will alleviate your suffering and change your community and you choose not to take advantage of it, then it's not a case of being ignorant anymore. It is a choice.
In a nutshell, people need to wake up and begin to think for themselves. This is the only way to get out of the trap of this false dichotomy that exist in the media.
