Good morning hivers and happy Monday today I was inspired by the monthly prompt of inleo to get inspiration for my post, fortunately it came after my Sunday out of town, yesterday unlike today it was nice weather, today it's pouring with rain, and my husband and I were both free and we took advantage of it to take a walk in a place called Ferruccia in Agliana. Ferruccia is a small town in the countryside that extends between two municipalities Quarrata and Agliana, there are various places to walk and it is far enough from the city to be able to visit it calmly and in peace. First we took a walk around the town, a quiet place with typical houses of the area some very beautiful and well-kept.

This place is divided by one of the main rivers of Pistoia the Ombrone, we ourselves then took a walk on the embankment to see an ancient villa that I will talk about in a specific post. La Ferruccia has medieval origins but today little or nothing remains of that era, it is an almost residential area and much loved by citizens who are looking for the right compromise between city and green spaces and in fact here they find it without problems. You can reach various nearby cities including Montemurlo and Montale in a few minutes by car, it is a really well connected area.

Ferruccia has a particular history precisely because it is divided into two municipalities separated by the river even though it is the same city on one side towards Agliana there is a strong left-wing political component with dedicated circles, on the other side of the river instead there are many fervent Catholics in fact it is here that the church you see in the photo is located where the bishop of Pistoia often went, a church of medieval origin dedicated to the saints Philip and James today renovated with a beautiful light facade, it also contains the museum of sacred art but to our dismay it was all closed and we could only see the church from the outside, who knows if we will ever come back to visit it.

This area is also full of fields and olive groves and is a good place to take a walk on nice days we continued our walk ending at a very beautiful villa which I will tell you about in the next posts!
