Reflect on the reality that death entered the world because of sin. The Bible teaches that human beings were created for life with God, but disobedience brought mortality into human experience. Because of this, death became a natural part of human life and a reminder of humanity’s separation from God.
“For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord” (Romans 6:23).
Understand also that death reminds people of the temporary nature of earthly life and points them toward the hope of eternal life. The Scriptures encourage believers to live wisely, knowing that life on earth is short and that God has prepared something greater beyond it. The Bible states,
“And as it is appointed unto men once to die, but after this the judgment” (Hebrews 9:27).
