My crypto journey started on a bad note two years ago due to inadequate knowledge before venturing into the crypto world. One of my good friends told me about the goldmine he discovered in crypto and how much money he had made on it so far. This conversation happened during the pandemic and so I decided to grab the opportunity and make my own money. He explained the trading part and the investment aspect to me, I tried trading but was getting it all wrong coupled with the fear of thieves who can easily hack someone's account as I was told if care is not taken, I quit trading immediately and started with the investment.
My friend told me about different coins but advised that I buy Bitcoin. The world of crypto was like a strange land for me then, I didn't know my left from my right, not enough research either, I just wanted to make money like my friend. So on the 10th of May 2020, I was ready to invest in Bitcoin with my hard-earned money and instead of creating my wallet where I should save my coin and be watching it add value, I gave my friend the money to buy the bitcoin and save it for me in his wallet🤦♀️. That was the beginning of my costly mistake, carelessness, laziness to research more and save the coin myself, and finally, trust my friend. I regretted this decision to date.
The value of bitcoin then was very very lower than what it is today. My good friend betrayed the trust I had for him. This is someone that invested half a million naira on bitcoin but then, he was just interested in my little investment. When I wanted to sell the Bitcoin sometime last year after seeing a 4x value of Bitcoin compared to when I invested it, this guy kept posting me. He would cook up an ugly story here and there. Days, weeks, months passed and he refused to sell the bitcoin he saved for me in his wallet. After much pushing, it was done on me that he want to make away with my money. He doesn't pick up my calls nor reply to my term paper full of messages. I blame my stupidity at the onset anyways. Long story cut short, I later recovered only my capital from him with the help of friends. I learned my lesson a hard way!
Fast forward to October last year when I discovered Hive, I found peace with crypto on this platform. I blog and earn in crypto, there is an investment part here also which is safe and secure, the power-up, staking, and the rest. I am still trying to gain my root with all the coins in the hive engine as well and utilize the opportunity. I am still a learner here but I am making a little progress unlike in my previous experience.

so far, my journey has been good and I plan to go as far as I can through the world of Cryptocurrency in learning, growing, investing, and enjoying the goodies it will bring to me, especially with the hive.
