Hello and welcome to another garden update! This time I have some photos taken after the rain which was much needed for the garden after a long period of hot and dry weather.
These are some of the biggest apples we've had and in my opinion this what real apples look like - not perfect but totally organic. Having a family garden since I can remember, I am used to fruits and veggies that have "flaws" and don't look identical in shape and size but rather different and unique.
After a big fig harvest we did couple weeks ago, we got more ripe figs these days which is amazing! I need to make chia pudding and top it of with some fruits from our garden while they are still in season.
This is how some of our raspberries look like - after a long period of hot weather without rain a lot of the branches and leaves got completely dry even though we did our best with watering. We are still getting a decent harvest which is nice!
Luckily extremely hot summer didn't affect blackberries and tomatoes. These smaller tomatoes and cherry tomatoes are my absolute favorites and I am very happy not only with the quantity but with the taste as well.
For the most part bell peppers are doing well, there are some that got eaten by some kind of bugs I guess but most of them are healthy and good.
We also have some of these semi-spicy peppers that I don't eat but other members of my family do. Some of them were in their flowering stage when I took these photos so I am expecting these peppers to stick around for some time still.
Unfortunately I didn't take any photos of plum jam making but we did harvest a bunch of our plums and made a delicious jam out of it - perfect taste and sweetness. Plum jam is something that reminds me of my childhood as my mom used to make it when I was a kid. I won't make any predictions about grapes, they used to look so good then some of them started to get wrinkly but now they look quite decent again... I'll keep you updated in future posts.
