Adventures with friends discovering the wonderful world of Viñales.
Hello great community of weekend experiences, on this excursion trip with my friends I share with you the wonders of our local nature
We start in the town of Viñales, there we buy food for the day, then we go to the famous Cueva de la Vaca, which is left when a mogote goes up and crosses it from side to side, the cave is about 200 meters long, the truth is beautiful. Climbing seems easy because it has very steep stairs, but it is not.
Once we passed that cave we had to go down the mountain, and find a unique landscape, because we had never seen that hidden face of Viñales, which is actually the best, I highly recommend them.
After walking and walking enjoying the sun, the landscape and of course the jokes of friends, we were finally able to reach our destination: The Palmarito cave. This cave is 14 kilometers long and water inside, it is a river and we had a huge desire to bathe, but we did not have something very important: in Cuba there is currently a huge drought and the river we imagined did not exist at that time.
After seeing that there was no water where the river should be because we began to laugh, there was no other choice, there we stopped to eat something and a place appeared and immediately we asked him what was happening, he explained to us that due to the drought the river was dry, but if we went 250 meters into that cave we would find a natural pool, and so it was.
We finished eating something, lit lanterns and entered the cave that literally could not see anything, the views inside the cave although quite scarce we could observe phenomena of nature, such as stalactites, which are beautiful, and of course we arrived without any damage to the pool inside the cave, I have to confess that of a group of 8 people there was only one brave man who got into
It was enough for me to get there without falling or hurting myself because I am extremely clumsy. Inside the water I could only observe catfish with the help of the flashlight. In the cave we couldn’t stand much, we didn’t see anything and it was cold, we decided to go out and sit outside the cave to talk and rest for the tour to the town.
This trip was excellent for us, at first we had an idea of where we wanted to do the excursion, but we did not imagine that our goal would be so far away, in total it was almost 20 kilometers traveled.
Spending a lot of time together was the best thing about the trip. The climate, the landscape and the local lifestyle will refresh our thoughts and allow us to get away from the routine. Every time we can we take a trip to nature, she is always our best option.
