the ocean great and grand
A deluge of blue many fathoms deep
Unfathomable even the learned few
Marvelous you are, thou blue watery behemoth
Spread across this void
space and time
You alone know how the tides ebb and how they flow
Sinister patron you are
You bestow. You take away
How many gnarled bones lay waiting on your floor?
The skeletons of many a ship rot in your salty deep
This is you. The ocean. Unforgiving. Rough
Dreadful, great, and blue.
