When it comes to waste and how it is disposed of, almost everyone is involved because we all have waste, and how we dispose of this waste either helps make our environment healthy or a toxic one that in one way or another affects our health and even our lives as individuals and as families. Some people see littering as a normal thing to do for both individuals and companies; only 2 out of every 10 companies and even individuals understand the effect of littering on the environment and try as much as they can to minimize how much they litter the environment, or they avoid doing it at all.
Littering the environment most of the time does not have any immediate effect; sometimes the natural disasters we have to deal with were actually caused by the things man (humans) did so many years ago. I have seen a flood happen because the drainages were blocked with plastics and debris we humans used, and since the waterway was blocked, the drainages started overflowing and started finding their way into people's houses nearby, and the waste blocking the waterway was not all dumped in a day; it accumulated until it got to the point of causing damages, and that is how littering affects us.
The effect of littering our environment and not properly disposing of waste might not come immediately, but it will definitely come, and sometimes the innocent will have to pay for our sins because we might be long gone before the repercussions come. Littering is something we all are guilty of no matter how small; some of us don't even care, we just litter the whole place, while some have some conscience and try to minimize how much littering they do to the environment. Some companies adhere to government rules when it comes to littering, while some don't, but then, it's funny how the government and its agencies ignore the companies that do the major littering but are more focused on individuals whose dumping and littering for a whole year is not up to one-third of what companies dump in a month.
Some of these companies dump on land, while some dump into the ocean and die, causing harm to aquatic life and even terrestrial animals because we eat many aquatic animals already infected from the ocean as a result of these dumps. I saw a movie where a company was sanctioned for dumping waste in the open sea and ocean, but then they were able to bribe the people in charge of the government agencies, and that sanction and fine went away like it was never there, while individuals who could not pay bribes were paying the price for every littering of the environment.
We have government agencies in charge of making sure that both companies and individuals who litter the environment are brought to justice, but it's funny how most of the time it is only individuals that are brought to justice while companies escape without paying the price. Agencies in charge of taking bribes are not just in the movies; they are happening in our world. The agencies are lenient on companies but are strict on individuals because of what goes on behind the scenes, and sometimes it is not always taking bribes but because of how powerful the owners of these companies are and the type of strings they can pull.
