To a poor man a bottle of wine can be expensive. This might be the bottom range at $5 but if you don't have the funds it might as well be $5,000.
To a rich man who has billions, $5,000 can be nothing and you can buy dozens of bottles without feeling any pain.
It would hurt me to have $30K in a case of wine but some people don't blink to spend it. It hurts me because there is no value in the purchase.
I can buy 6 lovely bottles of wone for $30 and they will end up the same way as the expensive bottles. Down the hatch and out the spout. Regardless of price.
It's a question of worth rather than price.
I've spend 30K on my car no problem because it will hold the majority of it's value for resale. I need a large car for my family, for getting to work.

Some things are worth spending money on.
Some things aren't.
Figuring that out is personal to each person but a very important life lesson for everybody to learn if they want to be successful.
Too many people complain about not having money for the things that they need but still spend a lot of money on the things that they just want.
Wants and needs are two very different concepts.
I want to be retired at 50, dept free. I also want to have nice car, nice, phone, lots of holidays and a good life.
Unfortunately I can't have all of that with my current income so have to pick which of those wants is the most important and then need to act accordingly.
Cut out the spending on nights out and phones to achieve an important life goal rather than a fleeting fancy.
If I had more money the cost wouldn't matter for small purchases like these as the money would seem like good value compared to what i have to spend but at the moment it's more important to save, invest and clear all debts to have a better quality of life long term.
