Well it's been an interesting twelve months to say the least. This time last year we saw an airdrop for a brand new (sort of) blockchain called HIVE. As with any new token we say the initial hype followed by the inevitable dump by those who don't have a real interest in that token. It has happened with so many new tokens regardless of the history behind that token. UNI is the prime example and we have seen how that is going.
HIVE is no different to this and for the past twelve months what we have seen is the supply of HIVE getting balanced out by the markets into the hands of those who believe in the future of HIVE and sold by those who don't. For anybody who wanted to be part of this future they would not be selling at 10c like we saw. They would be holding and stacking for the inevitable rise. The current community is small but we have seen how those working with the future in mind have spend this past year growing and accumulating.
The end result of this is that when we start to grow that the voice of the community will be those who want it to succeed most. I can see the accounts that I follow and who have posted consistently over the past year have grown massively. When the markets pumped so hard in 2017 we all said that the people who bought STEEM at 7c were so smart. That we wished we had been there at the time. Well this time we were. We were watching HIVE on the markets at 10c and some of us took that leap and powered up.
If development continues at it's current rate and the eco-system keeps expanding at it's current rate then more value and interest will flow into the chain. In six more months we could see a new wave of users looking at 10c HIVE and wishing that they could have bought it. Well they could. If they had been paying attention. A lot more could have held onto theirs instead of selling too.
This will be very important for the next phase of distribution as people holding now will do so a lot tighter than those who wanted to dump. These people are in it for the long run and will operate to the benefit of HIVE. Hopefully with new revenue flowing into the chain we will see them continue to accumulate and drive the price higher.
I know that I won't be selling.
