Today , I am bringing you updates on our departure to San Juan Puerto Rico towards our ENACTUS global competition.
In my previous post I stated that we went to get our Covid test and did some rounds because we were to leave Ghana the next day( Wednesday, 26th).
So our check-in at the Kotoka international airport was at 6:00am and our departure was at 9:10am.
I made sure to be out of bed by 4:00am to prepare to leave to the airport because my house is a bit far from there. My dad was to drop me there.
At exactly 5:00am we set off and arrived at the airport around 5:45am.
I was to meet the team for us to check in together but we were running late so
I had to take the lead since they had already arrived and were waiting for the others that didn’t know around.

At the checkin you would first have to very your Covid vaccine card and then proceed to weigh your bags.
After that, you will then have to go through the immigration check point and that would be all.
After we went through all these processes we proceeded to find a place to wait for our flight.
We were to use Asky airlines to Lome, Togo and then Transit with Ethiopian Airline to John F. Kennedy International Airport, New York and from there we use JetBlue airline to San Juan Puerto Rico.
Within a few minutes our flight was ready for us to board. We went through the necessary checks and we were finally on board.
The trip from Accra to Lome was about 30 minutes and we got there in no time.

After our flight had landed, we were the transported in buses to the entrance of the airport which took just a few minutes.
Once we got there, we once again went through the necessary checks and the had to wait for a few hours since our flight was at 13:00pm.
At 13:00pm we were ready to get on board and be on our way to JFK airport. The journey from Lome to New York was 11 hours long.
30 minutes into our journey we were served some snacks. I was very hungry so I was happy they were serving us some snacks:)
After I look my snacks I decided to sleep a bit.
I think I slept for less than an hour when I was being tapped to wake up because we were being served lunch.
In my mind I was like ‘ didn’t the just serve us snacks?’
But did I have a choice?
We were given a tray with some rice( I opted for chicken) , bread, margarine, cheese, juice , water, biscuits ,chips and some other stuff of which I do not know what they are.
I didn’t really like the rice because it had a weird taste. I think it was the spice that’s was used.
So I left the rice and ate the bread with the juice. It was really nice. I also took the snacks and gave out my tray when the air hostess came round for them.
After taking my lunch I decided to watch a movie.
I fell asleep in the process and woke up later.
We were served supper a few hours later.
For supper, we were once again given rice ( I opted for beef this time around) , some biscuits, bread, cheese , margarine and some other stuff of which I didn’t know their names again.lol.
I was able to eat the rice this time around but I didn’t really enjoy it.
After supper we were being served some tea.
At this point I knew I couldn’t eat anymore.
The air hostess came around once again to pick our trays.
After, I decided to listen to so music because I was bored. The music was good. Maybe you can download the album and enjoy yourself.

We arrived in New York at 8:30pm , New York time and we were about to miss our next flight because our check-in was at 8:30pm and our flight was at 9:00.
After we picked our bags we proceeded to the air train station to board an air train in order to catch our next flight.
We finally met our flight and we go onboard.
At this point we were very exhausted because we went through a lot of stress to get to our flight.
The journey from JFK airport to San Juan airport was close to 4 hours.
It was a very quiet journey because we all slept for the most part of the journey. We needed it.
We were served some snacks also but most of us were fast asleep to have some. I wasn’t asleep so I had some juice with cookies.
Luis Munoz Marin International Airport
We arrived at Luis Munoz Marin International Airport in San Juan at around 3:30am. We picked up our bags and headed out.
The journey from Ghana to San Juan was quite a stressful one but in all, I had fun.
