It is not your job to become better than another person. It is your job to become better than the person you were yesterday.- David Duchovny
I few days ago, I read a story about how someone was comparing herself to another person and the funny thing was that, they later on found out that they were even doing better than that person in actual sense.

Have you ever sat down to ask yourself why you compare yourself to others? It might because you don’t even appreciate who you are and what you have. It might also be because of what you think about the other party. You might think they don’t deserve what they have but in actual sense, you’re not the one to determine who deserves what they have or not.
We can never fully understand how life works and so the best we can do for ourselves is to stop comparing ourselves to others because we can never be equal. Think about your mates you sat in class with some years back? Where are they all now? Everyone is out there trying to figure their life out. A long time ago, I used to compare myself to others but now I know better.
Anytime you start comparing yourself to others, just know that it’s going to lead to envy and gradually you will start to hate someone for no reason. When you observe these things happening in your life, you should take a pause and analyze your life again.
Here are a few tips that can help you avoid comparison:
WHAT TRIGGERS YOU?
We all have that one thing that triggers us to compare ourselves to others. It may be wealth, appearance or what have you but whatever it is, try to develop a coping mechanism for it. We all have our coping mechanisms , just go for which works best for you and also learn to reframe your negative thoughts with positive ones.
EMBRACE WHO YOU ARE
At this point in our lives, no one has to tell us that we are all different and unique in our own way. No one is perfect and our imperfections make us who we are. As individuals, we should be able to learn to embrace our individuality , our strengths and our weaknesses and learn from our mistakes. Instead of comparing yourself to others, why don’t you work on being better. Life isn’t a race.
PRACTICE POSITIVITY
I remember telling @yahuzah some time back that I’m practicing positivity and he made fun of me because we both know my overthinking habit wouldn’t allow that to happen. Good news is, I did it and I’m still doing it. Instead of always worrying about what might go wrong, why not think about the best that is yet to come. Why not look forward to all the good things coming your way and work towards it.
Negativity isn’t the way to go. To avoid self doubt, engage more in activities that promote self-awareness and acceptance and eventually you will grow to understand yourself better.
Comparison is a thief of joy. Never think of yourself to be lesser than others because you are unique and special in your own way. You are enough!
Be you.❤️
