We find ourselves in a generation where social media has grown to the highest peak and is still growing. And honestly, this same social media could be the best or worst thing to ever happen to you depending on what you use it for.

We are all on the internet day in day out and we see what goes on there. We see how some people are doing so well in what they do with the help of the great content the put on the internet and then there’s those who have managed to tear their lives apart, thanks to what they show us on the internet. Either way, what you put out there comes back at you the way it’s supposed to.

Over the years, we’ve been in and out of arguments that have to do with social media and its impact on kids. I for one believe that social media isn’t health for kids if they have access to it a lot. I do have younger kids in my house who have access to screen. They aren’t ok the internet as often but their screen time playing games and what have you sometimes reaches an all time high until we start to strictly regulate it.

Parenting is hard, there’s no manual or one way around it for anyone. What works for one parent wouldn’t work for another. But when it comes to social media and kid influencers , I’d say the journey is different for every kid but it mostly depends to the parents and those in charge of managing accounts. I know kids on the internet who she more following than me and it’s mostly kids who already have influential parents.

I’ve been following this kid on TikTok and this boy is doing really well. His talent is fashion designing and my, his parents are grooming him to be the best among the best. All I see when I watch his videos is pure talent. I don’t know what goes on backstage but this kid has been groomed very well. On the other hand, I’ve equally seen a number of kids on instagram and TikTok revealing themselves and getting themselves in messy fight with people only.

This is why I say it all depends on the parents. Some kids are on the internet without their parent’s knowledge, so technically I wouldn’t say they are being exploited. But out of 10 kid influencers out there, I would like to believe one is being exploited. But that isn’t something I would want to dwell on because I know that with time , everything will come out and justice will be served.

But for the parents who have seen their kids talents and have taken to the media to grow that, I hope things continue to turn out well for their kids. Social media can be both good and bad depending on how you use it. I believe some parents with kid influencers are just trying to help their kids have a good landing in their files do expertise for the future.
