Week 50: #introduceyourself Curation Post

The countdown has begun as this will be my last #introduceyourself Curation post under the Hard Fork 20 protocol! I have mixed feeling regarding these efforts on curating new users as I think it will bring more engagement to these posts as more seek curation. However, I am concerned with the amount of user retention we will have given the reduction in author rewards. I have reviewed this early on in my journey curating introduction posts and did not see numbers that were encouraging before these changes.

I think that the opportunity continues to be at the point of onboarding and ensuring that expectations are set appropriately. This could be easier these days as the amount of accounts entering are less and seem to be more tailored to the communities, tribes or projects that are attracting them here. This provides a unique opportunity to surround them with content focused on their interests which would help retention over time. We will see soon enough!

Sam or @grandcommander here on Steem is a song writer that found some of his work referenced here and immediately jumped into the opportunity to become a part of the community. He explains in his introduction that he could never connect with other social networks but feels different about the potential here with the passionate community that shares aspects of his interests.

Ana Maria or @soyunasantacruz recently introduced herself and described her journey from librarian to administrator. However, what has brought her to Steem is her excitement for new adventures in travel and art which she wants to share as she learns her way in the ecosystem given her experience on other social networks.

Samie or @samie.sings.here is a young aspiring singer and songswriter that introduced her journey from an active athlete in swimming and volleyball to the arts taking over her life given the passion she feels with it. While her music is what drives her, she is also very active in painting and photography.

@paovillegas5 is a young Venezuelen lawyer that we welcome who is passionate about justice for a career but also very committed to her health and fitness to ensure that not only her physical self is well but also the mental side. She hopes to share these experiences with the Steem community in the future.

I hope this to be an evolving process to the benefit of the community so please continue providing feedback to support these and all the new users coming to the platform. I am looking forward to more new users coming and engaging with the community to solidify the social aspect of the #STEEM blockchain.
