Excited to present Part 2 of my latest quarterly report as it has given great insights of what has worked (and not) in my journey on Steem!

Despite the improved spread, rewards from authoring and curation continues to be 68% of my total! It will interesting to see how and if this changes as Hard Fork 21 is deployed. The change to split rewards now between authors and curators may lead to interesting implications on how we engage with the community. However, we will always look to adapt and changes with the experience we see. For example, this was also the quarter where I have added a significant number of Autovotes to reward great content creators during my vacation. This may change as I seek to broaden my curation reach as curators will now get more of the rewards! Even the timing of votes may materially change!

The earnings from last quarter now has my cumulative Steem Power earned over 3,000! Again, the effects of compounding given the current Steem protocol inflation rate continues to be leveraged for growing my account. Despite trying my best to get over 20k Steem Power for this report, a couple of moving parts made it impossible for me to achieve. However, the path is now set to continue my journey towards my goal of 25k this year and 50k ultimately to become an Orca like a couple of inspirational users around the ecosystem. With Steem prices remaining what I believe to be undervalued, I think the goal is more achievable every day given the amounts of opportunities that continue to be created everyday within the ecosystem.

One of the latest opportunities that really gained traction during the quarter was the growth of Steem Engine and the minting of tokens by a number of projects for the community. While this started as ways to tokenize different ideas, the SCOT and Nitrous (excuse the ignorance) upgrades have taken it even further by layering independent reward pools for stakes created by new projects with different front ends. Most have been distributed by airdrops (and variations) which basically allowed active users to get stakes at no costs! This has developed a market for these tokens as many communities have begun to specialize themselves and cater to content creators focusing on the interests of their members. Many just used this to cash out or build their Steem account balances but other have held and accumulated which have given interesting results as prices have performed well given demand increasing. This is probably what has lead to more encouragement for me as it is all built on Steem and continues to provide ways to develop and grow projects here. I believe that these developments will merit more attention from me in the coming months in order to optimize the opportunities that present themselves.

The focus on Steem Engine will probably lead me to make very little changes to my Steem Power delegation allocation for here out unless opportunities arise. However, most are now focused on Steem Engine and not Delegations. For the past quarter, a number of changes were needed as my balances increased. The quarter also had the unfortunate scam of Magic Dice come to light which made me withdraw that delegation. However, I quickly found a great place to put it as Steem Monsters announced rewarding DEC, a Steem Engine token and currency for the game, for delegations. I also decided to go back to the leasing market as returns for delegated Steem Power were above 15% once again. I also decided to start a delegation for dlike@dlike as their token distribution plan has been updated as well as their Dapp. This is a Dapp that I have been wanting to incorporate into my content creation and engagement so I decided to get involved with the delegation while I decide how I will integrate into that community.

While I have continually improved the amount of Steem Power earned, my purchases continued to be the largest source of my Stake. In fact, my purchased Steem represents over 80% of my Steem Power! While I expect this percentage to decrease over time, the opportunity of low Steem prices has made this be the largest source for me as I continue to deploy my Dollar Cost Averaging strategy. However, I will now be prospectively adjusting my strategy by no longer investing monthly. I will now target quarterly purchases until I reach 25k which will then change my strategy once again as I focus on earning from there forward.

I had three purchases this quarter with a pretty broad price as Steem saw some great performance early in the quarter. I still believe that below $1, it is undervalued. As the price remains below $1, my average cost continues to decrease. It has now reached $0.73 which is really a dream come true when I think about the price when I started my strategy in Feb 2018! While I have increasingly been finding myself using liquid Steem for many reasons (i.e. SBIs, OCDB, Steem Monsters, etc.), most of the amounts I acquire and earn are ultimately being Powered Up to improve my stake! I do not forsee this changing much but it will always depend on the opportunities available.

As we get through the halfway point of the year, we continue to see how fast things can move around is when dealing with technology. This is always a challenge when trying to build as being flexible and willing to adapt is an important factor to success in my opinion. No one quarter has been the same for me yet while on Steem and I do not think that will change anytime soon. Luckily, the community continues to help and provide guidance on the evolution happening that can help us all prepare. I look forward to where this journey leads me and many others in this great community!
