A tongue orchid. I always thought there might be some orchids in our nature reserve, but I had never spotted any in 30 years, lol. I am probably always too busy running and looking where I am putting my feet.
It took meeting one of our friends on an afternoon stroll to show us and now I think they are easy to find! I think before I was looking for something bigger and taller, but these flowers are quite short, small, and well camouflaged.
