This week’s shape, despite ending in points, I think has a very organic and fluid design. From the very first moment it reminded me of a seaweed, perhaps supported by that deep blue color it has. With that idea in mind, and thinking of an underwater background full of fish and creatures, I began to draw. I will be using Ibis Paint for the entire drawing process.
La forma de esta semana, a pesar de terminar en puntas, creo que tiene un diseño muy orgánico y fluido. Desde el primer momento me recordó un alga marina, quizás apoyado por ese profundo color azul que tiene. Con esa idea en mente y pensando en un fondo marino lleno de peces y criaturas comencé a dibujar. Estaré usando Ibis Paint para todo el proceso de dibujo.
Little by little I kept adding fish and creatures, maintaining a childlike and cartoon style. I also added a starfish, some anemones, a little crab, and an octopus. I hid a fish behind the blue algae, bubbles—because bubbles cannot be missing in any underwater background. With all the lines done and with a drawing that made me very happy, the moment to color finally arrived.
Poco a poco fui agregando peces y criaturas, manteniendo un estilo infantil y cartoon. También agregué una estrella de mar, algunas anémonas, un cangrejito y un pulpo. Oculté un pez detrás del alga azul, burbujas—no pueden faltar las burbujas en todo fondo marino. Con todas las líneas hechas y con un dibujo que me tenía bien feliz llegó el momento de colorear.
I chose varied and warm colors for the drawing, in contrast with the cool blue of the coral, but using lower saturation so that the protagonist remains and continues to be the base shape. Even so, I liked how each element shines in its own way and integrates with the base element.
Escogí para el dibujo colores variados y cálidos, en contraste con el azul frío del coral, pero usando una saturación menor para que el protagonista sea y se mantenga siendo la forma base. Aun así me gustó cómo cada elemento brilla a su forma y se integra al elemento base.
The final touch was to add some simple white highlights in just a few places. With this, I already had the drawing finished for this doodle. I hope you like it. Thank you for accompanying me one more day of drawing. See you tomorrow.
