Prijepolje is a municipality located in the southwest of Serbia, on the river Lim. It is located at the foot of mount Jadovnik at the place where the river Milesevka flows into Lim.
The entire municipality is characterized by mountain and mountainous landscape, at an altitude of 1200 meters, while the largest is measured on the Jadovnik mountain, about 1700 meters. It is precisely because of this altitude that the climate is moderately continental, which is why winter temperatures are low and the spring comes later.

According to the data in the area of Prijepolje, there are traces of settling from prehistoric times. This is witnessed by numerous archaeological finds, among which the most famous destination is the Dvorina, where objects from the Roman era were discovered.

This municipality first appeared under the present name in the Middle Ages, when it was an important trade center.
It was the former center of southwestern Serbia at this time.
Over time, this center has changed its role in the country and this trade function has been replaced by some other functions, serviceable, industrial .. and recently, the agricultural function has been growing, as this region has become popular in the cultivation of raspberries.

Lim is one of the most beautiful rivers of this municipality for me. It springs in Montenegro and runs 220 kilometers long through Montenegro, Serbia and Bosnia and Herzegovina. It is a river on which two hydropower plants are built, among which is the lake.
It is precisely because of its characteristics that this river is one of the most famous in Serbia, which is visited for rafting.
When it comes to the name of the river, the origin of its name is still unknown. The theory is many and one is that it originates from the Greek word limes, which means the border.
The source of the river is, as I said, in Montenegro, at an altitude of 1000 meters and it flows into the Drina river in the territory of my country.

One of the most visited destinations in the past years in Prijepolje is Sokolica Hill. The desire of many, and mine too, was to look from the heights to the surrounding mountains of Prijepolje, Zlatar and Zlatibor. By building a viewpoint on this hill this feeling is enabled and the place is so nicely arranged and there is a possibility for rest. On the hill, a bench and a stone base were built as a safe place for rest. The viewpoint is at an altitude of 680 meters and is one of the most important tourist destinations.

I must admit that the road to the hull is difficult, especially if the sand goes.
The streets are very curved and narrow and the road to the summit is long. I managed to climb this hill forty minutes. If it goes in a car, the road is much shorter, but the feeling is not the same. That feeling, after 40 minutes of climbing stops and you look at this area, is invaluable.
This location has been chosen because from this place you can see the whole city, the surrounding towns, beautiful landscapes and mountains.

And finally, I could not leave this beautiful place, without having any picture of mine. These two pictures were photographed by my friend, because I did not want to get out of here, not to capture wonderful moments in this beautiful place. I hope you also like other photos from this posts. They are all photographed with my J5 phone, from the Sokolica. :)
