ENGLISH

I invite you to join me in visiting the Hernán Marín Amphitheater, a beautiful open-air structure near the beach. Beyond paying tribute to this prominent musician from eastern Venezuela, the venue offers space for physical, cultural, and recreational activities—and it’s also a great spot for taking lovely photographs. At the top, there is a wall featuring the word "Venezuela" and a red-and-white boat, which bears the title of one of the singer’s iconic songs. From this vantage point, you can see the amphitheater, the Marina Plaza shopping center, the side staircases, and the lights positioned toward the back. The boat is made of wood, with a red stripe, a white stripe in the middle, and another red stripe; the ground is painted in shades of blue and white, evoking the sea.

From this area, you can also see the "Butterfly Swing," the perimeter fence, and some buildings along the avenue. Behind the wall, a concrete walkway leads toward the lookout point and the rear of the amphitheater. The entrance features a colorful sign displaying the name that inspired the site. In this photograph, you can see the perimeter fence, the walls, the front walkways of the amphitheater, and the gardens located to one side. Further down, toward the gardens, there is a beautiful mural depicting Hernán Marín, the Castle of Cumaná, vibrant red flowers, a boat at sea, and a lovely pelican beside the vessel. Nearby, you will find a plaque identifying the amphitheater, along with a quote from the singer-songwriter Hernán Marín.

At the base of the amphitheater, several stairways lead to different areas. On the sides, they connect to the "El Columpio de Corazón" (Swing of the Heart) section near the shopping center, while in the other direction, there is access to the large "Venezuela" lettering and a colorful boat—a tribute to a renowned singer from Cumaná. The murals located at the lower level depict the colonial architecture of Cumaná, which has been designated as a heritage site. The famous San Antonio de la Eminencia Castle sits at the city's highest point—a hill known as "La Eminencia," from which the castle takes its name. This fortress, over 300 years old, is situated in a strategic location that once allowed the conquistadors to oversee and monitor various parts of the city. The amphitheater offers space for a variety of activities; in the afternoons, it is common to see groups of people participating in dance-fitness sessions, walking up and down the stairs, or strolling along the upper level. One of the most popular spots is the wall featuring the word "Venezuela" and the boat—perfect for taking beautiful photographs as a memento of your visit to this lovely place. Thank you for joining me on this adventure!
