Bob had been searching for a job for almost a year.
Every morning, he would iron his only good shirt, carry his file of certificates, and go from one office to another. Every time, the answer was the same.
"We'll call you."
But nobody ever called.
One afternoon, he returned home tired and discouraged. His mother looked at him and said, "Bob, why don't you create your own opportunity instead of waiting for one?"
Those words stayed in his mind.
The next day, Bob used the little money he had saved and started selling fresh fruit by the roadside. At first, people laughed at him.
"A graduate selling fruit?" they mocked.
Bob ignored them.
Months later, his small fruit stand grew into a shop. Then another one. Before long, he employed three other young men who were also looking for jobs.
One day, a company that had rejected him years ago invited him for an interview.
Bob smiled and politely declined.
After all, there was no job for Bob back then, but now, Bob had become the one creating jobs for others.
