I really love ornaments made with dots. I spent some time practicing making patterns on sheets of paper. And one day I came up with the idea to create a musical instrument "the sound of rain". And of course, paint it with dots.
It all started with the fact that I began to study how and from what such tools are created. Basically, it is created from hollow grass, special types of cactus, pumpkin... But also, modern craftsmen experiment, and sometimes use blanks made of cardboard. And I took up this method.
Cardboard blank need to fill the partitions of toothpicks. According to the marking, I make through punctures with an awl. Then, I insert the toothpicks. Then, with the pliers on the outside, I bite off the excess toothpicks. I fix the toothpicks with glue. Then I polish it. Then I glue one layer of paper from the outside. After the workpiece dries, I sand it again.
Now you can fill in a mixture that will simulate the sounds of rain. Usually, seeds, cereals, dried petals are used for this purpose... We seal the ends of our billet.
And I painted the blank in the main color. I chose black, because I like the way the colored dots are combined with the black color the most.
And the fun begins. Creating a pattern. I think it took a week to create this tool)))
