Have you ever noticed that you are viewing situations from the past with a "fresh look"? Why do we periodically dive into memories unconsciously? Recently I felt that the past creates the present and the future. The decisions made once act then and now and will act in the future. We may not even remember that we agreed to such a thing, but we automatically act in a certain way.
Many psychologists focus their attention in their work on the past. The scenario of life revolves around the decisions made once. Now there are even modern methods of working with the past in which you do not need to immerse yourself in thoughts. By alternately performing certain actions, a person is freed from the knots of the past.
It seems to me that many people intuitively plunge into their past, feeling themselves in a kind of dead end. And from my own experience, I see how my present changes when I live my painful memories in a new way. The feeling of freedom through forgiveness is probably the most incredible feeling I have experienced.
