It was the month of January of this year, as we all know that month economically is very difficult in my country Venezuela, the truth is I do not know how it is in other countries, but here many even say jokingly that this month lasts about 90 days, that's how difficult is that month. Unfortunately our neighbor, Mrs. Teresa was not in good health that month, she fainted one morning and convulsed several times.
She is a widow and has no family, so together with several neighbors we took her to the nearest health center, all of us praying from outside that she would feel well and that nothing would happen to her. Her health was very delicate, the doctor on duty told us, so they sent her for very expensive tests, she was only receiving her pension, which was not enough for almost nothing. Those of us who were there did not know what to do, as I told you that month is difficult for everyone.
We had to think fast, Mrs. Teresa's health depended on us and we could not think of anything, a comrade raised an idea, and it seemed very timely, so we wrote to the community group to see how we could help Mrs. Teresa, many comrades of the group began to contribute ideas on how to help. The first thing was that she could not be left alone, we put 3 daily schedules where those who could to take care of her in the hospital. What I least imagined was that there would be plenty of people for that, what a good spirit of companionship. They were not well off financially but they wanted to help.
The other problem was the money, the other comrades organized themselves and we planned to make soup to sell, empanadas and we placed a notice on the site explaining for whose benefit we were doing this, so that anyone who could for this noble cause could collaborate. Mrs. Teresa did not have to worry, her three healthy meals arrived right on time, she was always accompanied and the sales were so good that we were able to do the tests and also buy her treatment.

We all came together, it was a very nice connection, we had a single purpose, to help Mrs. Teresa. I am amazed at the camaraderie that was shown for that beautiful cause. Mrs. Teresa was not alone, we were all with her, many of us did not even know each other, maybe before that event we only said good morning, but Mrs. Teresa united us. We were willing to do whatever it took for her health. She is at home with her treatment and calm, like every elderly person when someone comes to visit her, she tells her everything they did for her and that before she thought she was alone in the world but now she knows she has siblings, children, grandchildren and even great-grandchildren who are there to take care of her.
There is nothing more satisfying than helping another person selflessly and even more so knowing that if someone comes across a difficult situation, there will be more than just a neighbor to support you, but a true comrade.
