허진호 감독의 신작 영화 ‘암살자(들)’은 1974년 광복절 기념식에서 벌어진 육영수 여사 피격 사건을 바탕으로, 공식 기록에서 사라진 두 발의 총탄을 둘러싼 미스터리를 그린다. 유해진은 현장 경호를 맡았던 형사, 박해일은 수사 결과에 의문을 품는 신문 편집자, 이민호는 사건을 목격한 신입 기자로 출연한다. 제작진은 조사와 인터뷰를 토대로 실제 인물의 이름을 직접 쓰지 않으면서 균형 잡힌 시각과 스릴러의 긴장을 함께 추구했다. 작품은 토론토국제영화제 갈라 부문에 초청됐으며 9월 추석 극장가에서 국내 관객을 만날 예정이다.
Director Hur Jin-ho’s new film “The Assassin(s)” turns the 1974 killing of first lady Yuk Young-soo into a mystery thriller about two bullets missing from the official record. Yoo Hae-jin, Park Hae-il and Lee Min-ho play a detective and two journalists pursuing the truth. The film was invited to Toronto’s Gala section and is due in Korea during the September Chuseok season.
