It is said that when you’re about to give up, to leave behind everything you long for — that very thing which makes you feel alive just by desiring it — because it seems unreachable, it may already be closer than you think. So you should hold on a little longer… 🤔 It could also be put this way: many times we give up just before the threat disappears or the opportunity appears.
It seems the blame lies with our brain, which calculates — a lot, in fact — because its function is to protect us, to help us decide.
There’s a rather illustrative example: the boat. Imagine you’re in it and see another coming straight at you. That familiar mechanism kicks in and tells you to abandon before the collision. You jump into the water… but in the end the boats don’t collide, because one veers away in time. That premature abandonment reflects exactly what psychology explains.

What happens to me is that the more I learn, the less I want to speak. I examine myself, understand each reaction, each choice… and I only wish to have inner conversations, those conscious ones where words create and the heart is the compass.
Nor do I want to cling to ‘what there is’ just because ‘that’s all there is’. No, Universe, that’s not what I asked of you. So I wait patiently for that.
I’m not going to let anything, nor anyone, pull me out of my centre… I wait for what I asked for.
One day it shall come.
I took these photos in the town of Baracoa, Artemisa, and they are views of its modest Malecón, where I felt the breeze speaking to me of faith. I breathed deeply and, for a moment with my eyes closed, I saw some of the pieces of the puzzle.
