Mobile Phone Using by Students During School Hours: Allowed or Not?

Nowadays, mobile phone is becoming a major need of everyone. There has been a great development of mobile phone usage for any stage of human age. It’s common to see an underage boy/ girl talking on the phone in a public community, including school area. For this reason, many debates argue whether pupils should be allowed to take mobile phone to school or not.
It is impossible to make students are being totally apart from mobile phone. They need to communicate with parents, family or relatives. We cannot deny that students need to be in touch with their family for urgent reason during school hour. For instance, during the class a student need to be informed about the lost of family member, or when the pick up services delay, parents can re-scheduled the time. Besides, the devices have provides such useful services to help students in learning. Students can use calculator and online search engine to support them while studying.
On the other hand, spending most of time with mobile phone is very dangerous for students. It can disturb them to fully concentrate on the lesson. It’s been frequently discussed that many students use mobile phone improperly during school hours. They access social media, improper content, and other sites which is not suitable for their age. Consequently, they lack of focus in learning.
Based on the description above, we can conclude that it is quite difficult to state whether students are supposed to be allowed to use mobile phone at school or not. Using mobile phone without any rules will cause some effects on student’s learning. Somehow, to strongly ban students to use mobile phone at school is also impossible. School needs to arrange a kind of regulation so that students can use mobile phone wisely.
