Hello, friends of the world. Hello, friends of Hive. The weekend is here and with it, the opportunity to go out and have fun or stay at home to relax, have a few beers and watch a good movie or series on TV as I did, I stayed in to enjoy the chapters of the new season of The Bear.
This Friday I had to go to the supermarket and I took the opportunity to buy some beers. Among the beers in the freezer, an imported beer that I had never tried before, Estrella de Galicia 1906, caught my attention, so I decided to buy it and share it with you today.
Although there were several types of 1906 beers, I decided to buy the 1906 Black Coupage because I thought its description was great: "The black sheep of the family. A rebellious soul with four-malt coupage, smooth notes of chocolate, coffee, licorice, subtle bitterness, voluminous head." After reading this, I thought that if there is one beer that describes me, it would be this one. 🙈
I must confess that I love dark beers: they never disappoint me, they are always delicious, and this one was no exception. Its taste, its smell, its texture left me wanting more. But it has 7.20 ° of alcohol, so if I drink 4 of these I will surely be kissing Jeremy Allen White on the TV screen; not to mention that 1906 is an expensive beer for a Venezuelan's pocket: it costs almost $5.
Going back to the description of the Black coupage 1906, I felt that delicious bitterness on the palate, as well as the coffee and chocolate notes. The roasted and caramel aromas are perceived immediately after uncorking the bottle and indeed, it has a consistent and abundant beige foam.
As I write this post I think how easy happiness is. If on any given day you are quietly watching an excellent series like The Bear, in the comfort of your home, and you are savoring a delicious beer that tastes like glory, don't move, just smile, and thank God.
I'd like to invite my friend @tengolotodo to delight us with a post in The #BeerSaturday Challenge - Week 419, an initiative of the #beer community and the incomparable @detlev.
