Pongamos de moda el agradecimiento

alt

Let's make gratitude fashionable

alt

I remember that when I was a child, one of the first words we were taught at school and at home, after "Please" and "excuse me," was to say thank you. Every time we received something from someone, we had to respond with a word, simple, yet with extraordinary power: thank you.

Over time, I have discovered all the strength that this word holds, because it is not only about being grateful for the things that happen to us daily, for the things we have in our lives, but also for those things we desire, so that they may also come into our lives as gifts. Gratitude is a key that opens and closes doors, that multiplies, that summons abundance, blessing, and harmony.

Personally, I have many things that I am grateful for daily and infinitely. The energy of gratitude not only reconciles me with the world, it also makes me aware of the power I can summon with a single word. # That is why I am grateful for being healthy. My health and that of my loved ones is perhaps the most important thing to me right now. I am grateful for the health of my mother, my siblings, my nieces and nephews, my loved ones. I give thanks because my body is healthy, I am active, clear-headed, and full of energy.

I also give thanks for the family I have: the best of all. They have not only taught me, but also supported me, celebrated with me, and accompanied me. It is the family I chose long before birth and I am certain I chose them because they have a purpose in my life and vice versa. I am grateful for every scolding, every fall, every hug, every fight, because I know that a tree is stronger, the stronger and deeper its roots are.

I am grateful for my job that allows me to transform lives, bring light, impart knowledge, give. My job is not just my job; it is my best way to give everything I have received: each student is a self seeking knowledge, wanting to move forward, dreaming of a better tomorrow, not keeping all the good they have to themselves. In that sense, I am grateful to be an educator because I multiply the strength of giving, but also the gratitude of receiving.

Likewise, I am extremely grateful for my life, because I had a happy and resourceful childhood, because I always had loving parents, a comfortable and beautiful home, because I have never gone to bed hungry, because just as others have helped me, I have also given help, because I have the freedom to walk wherever I want, to watch sunsets and each day that dawns, to appreciate the beauty of things, to read, write, feel, and choose among many feelings, long-lasting hope.

As an exercise, whenever I come across matching numbers, that repeat, in sync, I make a wish out loud and give thanks three times: I am grateful for what I had, what I have, and what I will have. Thank you, thank you, thank you. Because as Elena Rose says: "The good is for me, what is meant for me is on its way, I deserve it."
