Runi is the only card in the whole of Splinterland game to have Rebirth skill. I personally feel that it is the more powerful than Resurrect. There is no need to worry about trying to keep your resurrect skill monster alive just in order to activate the skill.
Runi itself can be a mini tanker at the backline. With 1 shield and rebirth, it can actually tank like 2-3 sneak attack before its 1st death and another 2 more after rebirth. So in total, it can tank like almost one whole team of sneak attack!
Like i mention, it has rebirth so it didnt need to rely on other to revive. And after rebirth, it would be free of poison. So in a way, it is like immunity where poison cant kill it off.
With a speed of 1, reverse speed is definitely helping it to go first. And being a neutral monster, you dont need to worry about the team color for the match.
For only melee monster matches, opportunity and sneak are top choice skill for melee monster to attack beside the 1st spot. One of the top choice for only melee match is to use mylor summoner. Runi is not afraid of mylor as it has reflection shield to make the thorn deal 0 damage.
It also excel in blast ruleset. One reason is the reflection shield, so runi pair with any taunt monster can actually make the blast ruleset to be non-existance. Another important factor is that it has opportunity. Opportunity can target monster that is not in the 1st or last position, so it bring down opponent monsters at the fastest rate, it also can cause the blast the damage up to 2 neighbour monsters which sneak or frontal attack wont happen.
Moreover, Runi has additional benefits beyond the battle arena. It is an important component of landplay, an important aspect of the game.
