A morrocoy (turtle) eating leaves [Eng/Esp]

Greetings, dear friends of the community and photography lovers, how are you today? As for me, I am quite well. Whenever I have the opportunity to take pictures of animals I don't hesitate to do it and most of them are usually dogs, cats and insects that come to my yard from time to time, but today I want to share with you some pictures of a species of turtle that is known in Venezuela (where I live) as morrocoy, they are some pictures that I personally liked a lot, so I hope you also like them.

Saludos, queridos amigos de la comunidad y amantes de la fotografía, ¿cómo se encuentran el día de hoy? Por mi parte yo estoy bastante bien. Siempre que tengo la oportunidad de hacerle fotografías a animales no dudo en hacerlo y en su mayoría suelen ser a perros, gatos e insectos que llegan a mi patio de vez en cuando, pero el día de hoy quiero compartirles algunas fotografías de una especie de tortuga que es conocida en Venezuela (lugar donde vivo) como morrocoy, son unas fotografías que en lo personal me gustaron mucho, así que espero que a ustedes también les gusten.

This little morrocoy belongs to my cousin, they found him stranded in a street (place where they clearly do not belong) and if he was still there he would probably die, so they decided to take care of him and feed him, a couple of years ago it was quite common for people to have this species of turtles as pets in their yards, I think lately this has been disappearing and I would understand why he can not be considered as a pet, but there are people who still have them and I consider that as long as they give them a good home and keep them safe and quiet, I can not oppose this.

Este pequeño morrocoy le pertenece a mi prima, lo encontraron varado en una calle (lugar donde claramente no pertenecen) y si seguía allí probablemente moriría, por lo que decidieron cuidarlo y alimentarlo, hace un par de años era bastante común que las personas tuvieran a esta especie de tortugas como mascotas en sus patios, creo que últimamente esto ha ido desapareciendo y entendería por qué no se le puede considerar como una mascota, pero hay personas que todavía las tienen y considero que mientras les den un buen hogar y mantengan a salvo y tranquilas, no puedo oponerme a esto.

You can see how most of the pictures are of the little morrocoy eating some plants that were in the yard, I found it very curious to see him doing it, because sometimes you could appreciate his tongue and how he opened his mouth to tear the leaves of the plants, it was a very nice moment to capture, besides I'm not used to take pictures of this species of turtles, so it's always nice to do different things. For the editing of the photographs I went for something simple, I just gave a little light, some more color to highlight the morroccoy and correct certain details, but in general I liked the photograph enough so I didn't need so much work in the editing.

Podrán darse cuenta cómo la mayoría de fotografías son del pequeño morrocoy comiendo algunas plantas que estaban en el patio, verlo hacerlo me pareció muy curioso, porque en algunas ocasiones se apreciaba su lengua y el cómo abría su boca para arrancar las hojas de las plantas, fue un momento muy lindo de capturar, además que no estoy acostumbrado a hacerle fotografías a esta especie de tortugas, por lo que siempre es lindo hacer cosas distintas. Para la edición de las fotografías me fui por algo sencillo, solo di un poco de luz, algo más de color para resaltar al morrocoy y corregir ciertos detalles, pero en general la fotografía ya me gustaba bastante por lo que no fue necesario tanto trabajo en la edición.
