There are many things on our Planet that breathe life besides we humans, and while we humans have an average life expectancy of 80 to 85 years or may be even lesser in these times, there are many other lives which live much more and can go up to even a thousand years. I was reading this book "The Oldest Living Things in the World" and I cam across many such Plants, Trees, Moss, Shrubs, Fossils, Rocks that go up to a million years in time. And when you get to witness some of them in real it is really a privilege to come across that part of nature. There are many trees in different parts of the world which are thousands of years old. The Crystal growing in the caves and mountains are also millions of years old. We humans will come and go but these lives will keep existing and growing and may be when some day when the whole of Planet Earth perishes, these lives will also perish. But for us humans they are a living library talking about the evolution of our planet through millions of years through time and space.
My first ever encounter and realization with such a existence in nature was in the year 2001, when I visited Shenandoah Caverns in Virginia. In those days we did not have smart phone, and pictures were taken on a normal camera. I had taken loads of picture and I still have them. I was completely charmed with the place. That was my first ever encounter in the world of Crystals and I was mesmerized by the beauty of it. The crystalline formations were absolutely stunning.
Then later the next time I visited Caves was in Iran, The Alisadr water caves. Experts say it is one of the most unique and the biggest in the world and the formation of this cave took place almost 150 million years ago, going back to the Jurassic period. The cave is full of various mineral contents. Limestone being the most. It is said that 1 millimeter of it takes around 100 years to grow. The beautiful formation of the Stalagmites and the Stalactites is a sight not to miss
This is nature, beyond our imagination
Iran is one of those places where nature is at it's best.
There I also got to witness one of the most oldest Tree in the world. The 4000 Years old Cypress Tree, magnificent, ranked on No 4 position in the world oldest Trees. Normally I like to take a warm hug from these Trees and take their energy, but in this place they had a fencing, so I could not.
Look at the energy of this tree, it does not look like 4000 Yrs. It feels like it is in it's prime youth. It must be a house to so many birds.
The other one is in the Country I live right now, the AlHoota caves. It is magical. I will not share any pictures here, as it's against their policy. They have kept it simple, there are no lighting effects like the Iran ones, and you get to see the raw nature existing and growing here. It feels like a blessing to see these places.
In the book "The Oldest Living Things in the world", there were many Trees and other lives which were presented, but there was one picture, which I got very attracted to, the Pando Trees, dating 80000 years back. May be someday I will visit this place and witness this legend.

This one was on one of my trips in India, somewhere in the interiors, and I never miss this opportunity. I do not know how old this tree must be, but it surely looks like some 100s of years old, if not 1000s, it has been spreading and connecting to other trees as well.
And how old do you think this one must be. I have no idea, this tree stands in one of our local parks. Every time I walk through this, I feel like some giant energy in front of me.
There must be millions of such lives and we do not even realize the importance of it. I call them our living library, we will die in some years but they all will still be here, some of them till the very end of time may be.
What are the oldest living things that you have come across?
