I have a number of songs that run through my mind every once in a while...
It isn't Ed Sheeran and it isn't Katy Perry. It is actually a high-pitched Minnie-mouse voice singing "If you're happy and you know it, clap your hands!" Or it's a sweetie-style voice sings "Do you know the Muffin Man?"
I have been listening to these songs for close to 4 years now. My son loves them. I may be watching the TV in the background and writing on the computer, but in front of me there is a little plastic puppy bouncing around on the floor singing " B-I-N-G-O And Bingo was his Name!"
In the middle of the night, sometimes I wake up and I swear I can hear the music and words. Not just because he snuck the toys into his room (Not Allowed!!) but because every note and word has been engraved into my grey cells.
When I am a patient in a nursing home in many years to come. The adult version of this young man will come to visit me, and when he asks me how I am, I will simply reply: Ïf you're happy and you know it, clap you're hands!" Clap,Clap!!
I wonder if he will realize that it is not just some for of torture I have created - it was formed over the years of music playing.
