The weekend is here and I convinced my better half that we could go for a drive down to the beach...
He was convinced that it was going to be hot, sweaty and crowded with difficult parking. Still, the Little Man has not spent any time at the beach over this last Summer, and we had nothing else organized for today. He agreed to go.
We planned on one beach, but ended up at the next beach along - and the setup was perfect. We found a park that was right on the beach front (quite by accident - took a wrong turn and just kept driving till it turned up). The beach itself was windy (most of our beaches are) but it was quiet and kid-friendly ie. shallow for a long way out so Little Man could just walk out and play in the water.
He was able to sit in the water, it was so shallow (I was right nearby but cut myself out of the photo lol). The small waves were a constant source of delight to him and because the water has been warming over Summer it isn't cold.
As far as all were concerned - we could have spent all day. Next time I expect we will set ourselves up to spend a longer time there. We'll set up for more entertainment in the water, and maybe a little something more for the seagulls.
This was a lovely day out and it is definitely to be repeated another weekend!! :)
